Houston Dance Companies

With over 50 dancers, the Houston Ballet is the country's fifth largest company. It is also one of the busiest with a season that entails over 80 performances yearly at its home theater, the Wortham Theater Centre. The company also tours nationally and internationally performing many of the classics, from Swan Lake to the Don Quixote.

Houston's downtown is a hotbed of entertainment with a district dedicated to everything related to theater and stage. The Theater District encompasses 17 city blocks with facilities that host permanent professional resident companies in ballet, opera, music and theater. The District is also home to Bayou Place, a movie and entertainment complex. Other professional companies include the Alley Theatre, Houston Ballet, DaCamera, Broadway Houston, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony and Theatre Under the Stars.
